Joseph Schooling Sports Grant
Eligibility and Criteria

  1. To apply, you need to be:
    1. A Singapore citizen or permanent resident;
    2. Eurasian, as defined in the Eurasian Association’s Constitution;
    3. Between the ages of 14 to 19 years in the calendar year of application;
    4. In full-time education in Singapore for the majority of the Grant award year.
      In addition, you must have:
    5. Demonstrated commendable performance from January to December in competitions (National Schools Competitions, SEA Games, Asian Games, Commonwealth Games, and Olympic Games) by winning a bronze, Silver or gold medal in the preceding 12 months;
    6. Passed all requisite examinations and been promoted to the next academic year, or secured a place at the next level of institutional learning (e.g. in transition from O-levels to Polytechnic or A-levels etc);
    7. Your application endorsed by your school or the relevant National Sports Association.
      You must not be:
    8. Currently serving National Service or going to enlist in the year of the award;
    9. A recipient of a SpexScholarship, or any other sports-related scholarship or grant.

All points, from 1a. to 1i, will apply for evaluating your application.

There is no income criteria for this Grant

Terms & Conditions

  1. If you are awarded the Joseph Schooling Sports Grant, you will have to:
    1. Join the EA as a Junior Member (if you are under 18 years old) OR as ordinary member (if you are over the age of 18 years);
    2. Agree to allow the EA to use your photos/images in any EA collaterals (including online) that relate to the Grant;
    3. Agree to put in at least 5 hours volunteering at an event organised by the EA.
  2. The EA reserves the right to withdraw the Joseph School Sports Grant under the following circumstances:
    1. The recipient is formally disciplined by the sports association which is recognized by Sport Singapore (SportSG) and the Singapore National Olympic Council (SNOC) as the governing body for the sport in which the recipient is participating, or it is proved that the recipient engaged in a misdemeanor in the year in which the Grant was awarded
    2. The recipient of the Grant decides to take leave of absence from full-time education, and/or who fails to meet the requirement to be promoted to the next academic level in the year of the Grant award.

INSTRUCTIONS
Read the instructions carefully before completing the Application Form.

  1. Complete all sections and indicate ‘N/A’ for items that are not applicable.
  2. Please submit certified true copies of the following documents together with this application form:
    • NRIC and birth certificate, or proof of EA membership, if applicable;
    • Most recent exam results, letter of proof of current FULL-TIME enrolment and/or acceptance letters to a school (if applicable);
    • Records of sporting achievements, and letters of support from sports associations;
    • Letters from two referees, who are familiar with your participation and achievements in sports (e.g. coaches, team mates, teachers etc).
  3. Write a personal statement about your chosen sport on a separate sheet, including what it means to you, your aspirations, and how winning this Grant might benefit the wider community.
  4. False particulars or willful suppression of material facts will lead to disqualification, or if the grant is awarded, to termination of the Joseph Schooling (JS) Sports Grant.
  5. Shortlisted applicants will be interviewed by The Eurasian Association JS Grant Selection Panel.
  6. The Eurasian Association will not enter into correspondence with regard to the reasons for non-selection of applicant.
  7. The closing date is 30th September 2025.
