EA University Bursary

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Only students who meet the eligibility criteria will be called for an interview.

  • This Scholarship is open to students who have completed their Polytechnic or Junior College studies.
  • Applicants must be Singapore Citizens.
  • Academic criteria:
    • Cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 3.0 and above, achieved over the 3 years of study at the Polytechnic.
    • Students who have taken any supplementary exams during his/her academic tenure will NOT be eligible.
    • Candidates will be required to submit a 2,000 word essay on his/her personal vision, career goals and potential contribution to the activities of the Eurasian Association.
    • As Polytechnic GPAs cannot be directly calibrated across the five Polytechnics, due credit will also be given to the ‘O’ Level scores the candidate had achieved prior to entering the Polytechnic, during the selection process.
  • The candidate must show evidence of formal acceptance into the local university (NUS / NTU / SMU / SUSS / SIT / SUTD) into a course that is deemed suitable by the Management Committee of the EA in consultation with the Education Advisory Board.
  • Applicants must be matriculating and commencing their course in 2025.
  • Recipients of other Scholarships are NOT eligible to apply.
  • Students under the NUS Financial Aid Package may apply.
  • Family income will also be taken into consideration; monthly income of S$3,000 and below, or per capita income of S$1,600 and below.
  • Applicants will be interviewed by a selection panel appointed by the Management Committee in consultation with the Education Advisory Board. The decision made by the panel is final. Selection of candidates for the award will be competitive and is based on academic merit as well as financial position of the families.
  • Additional consideration will be given to applicants who have (in order of priority) taken part in voluntary work with the Eurasian Association, or who have impressive records of co-curricular activities in Polytechnic or Junior College, or strong leadership potential.

TERMS & CONDITIONS
The Eurasian Association reserves the right to amend the terms and conditions accordingly.

  1. The EA University Bursary will be paid annually for the student’s course of study, which covers course and miscellaneous fees, recommended textbooks, exam fees and other ancillary costs related to completion of the course. These costs will be specified by the EA Education Selection Panel and may be reviewed on a periodic basis.
  2. The Bursary covers 3 years of study, capped at S$10,000 per year, thus S$30,000 in total for 3 years. Funding for 4-year courses will be considered by the Panel on a case-by-case basis.
  3. Selected students will be expected to volunteer a minimum of 10 hours per year in EA events and activities, to help in our key pillars of education, family support services and community engagement.
  4. The Bursary will only cover approved courses, excluding Medicine and Dentistry.
  5. Continuation of funding will be dependent on the final exam results of each academic year as well as completion of the volunteer hours. Should a student fail an academic year or withdraw from the course, he/she will be required to pay back the amount to the Eurasian Association.

  2. Certified true copies of the following documents must be submitted together with this application form:
    1. Birth Certificate and NRIC of applicant
    2. Applicant’s previous exam results and testimonials of past schools
    3. Parents’ NRIC
    4. Pay Slip and CPF Contribution History of all working and non-working adults in the household
    5. NRIC of ALL family members staying in the same household
  3. False particulars or willful suppression of material facts will lead to disqualification, or if the bursary is awarded, to termination of the University Scholarship.
  4. Shortlisted applicants will be interviewed by The Eurasian Association Education Selection Panel.
  5. The Eurasian Association will not enter into correspondence with regard to the reasons for non-selection of applicant.
  6. The closing date for submission is 31st May 2025.
